Recommended Vaccinations by Age Group
Vaccinations are for everyone. But did you know that different vaccinations are recommended based on your age? Take a look at the recommended vaccination list so you can keep your community protected from birth through their elder years!
Birth
- Hepatitis B: 1st dose of 3
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV): 1 dose
1-2 Months
- DTaP: 1st dose of 5
- Hib: 1st dose of 3 or 4
- Hepatitis B: 2nd dose of 3
- IPV: 1st dose of 4
- PCV: 1st dose of 4
- Rotavirus: 1st dose of 2 or 3
4 Months
- DTaP: 2nd dose of 5
- Hib: 2nd dose of 3 or 4
- IPV: 2nd dose of 4
- PCV: 2nd dose of 4
- Rotavirus: 2nd dose of 2 or 3
6 Months
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- DTaP: 3rd dose of 5
- Hib: 3rd dose of 3 or 4
- Hepatitis B: 3rd dose of 3
- IPV: 3rd dose of 4
- PCV: 3rd dose of 4
- Rotavirus: 3rd dose of 3
7-11 Months
- This is a good time to catch up on any missed vaccinations
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
12-23 Months
- Chickenpox: 1st dose of 2
- DTaP: 4th dose of 5
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- Hepatitis A: 1st dose of 2
- Hib: 4th dose of 4
- IPV: 3rd dose of 4 (between 6-18 months)
- PCV: 4th dose of 4
- MMR: 1st dose of 2
2-3 Years
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
4-6 Years
- Chickenpox: 2nd dose of 2
- DTaP: 5th dose of 5
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- IPV: 4th dose of 4
- MMR: 2nd dose of 2
7-10 Years
- This is a good time to catch up on any missed vaccinations
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
11-12 Years
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- HPV: 2 doses
- MenACWY: 1st dose of 2
- Tdap: 1 dose
13-18 Years
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- MenACWY: 2nd dose of 2
- MenB: 2 doses
- MenABCWY: 1 dose
19-26 Years
- Chickenpox: Adults who never had chickenpox or received the chickenpox vaccine earlier should get 2 doses
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- Hepatitis B: Recommended for all adults (19-59 years of age)
- HPV: Recommended if you did not receive the HPV vaccine at a younger age
- MMR: Adults who do not have presumptive evidence of immunity should get at least 1 dose, or students at post-high school educational institutions who do not have presumptive evidence of immunity need 2 doses
- Td or Tdap: Every adult should get the Tdap vaccine if they did not receive it as an adolescent, then a Td booster shot every 10 years
27-49 Years
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- Hepatitis B: Recommended for all adults (19-59 years of age)
- MMR: Adults who do not have presumptive evidence of immunity should get at least 1 dose, or students at post-high school educational institutions who do not have presumptive evidence of immunity need 2 doses
- Td or Tdap: Every adult should get the Tdap vaccine if they did not receive it as an adolescent, then a Td booster shot every 10 years
50-64 Years
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- Shingles: 2 doses, age 50 and older
- Td or Tdap: Every adult should get the Tdap vaccine if they did not receive it as an adolescent, then a Td booster shot every 10 years
65 Years and Older
- COVID-19: Recommended for everyone 6 months and older
- Flu Vaccine: Every flu season
- Pneumococcal: The PCV vaccine is recommended for adults who never received a PCV and are age 65 or older
- Shingles: 2 doses, age 50 and older
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV): Adults age 60 and older should talk to their healthcare provider about getting a single dose of RSV
- Td or Tdap: Every adult should get the Tdap vaccine if they did not receive it as an adolescent, then a Td booster shot every 10 years
